Medium plate – Early Winter series

This handmade plate is perfect as a piece of decoration or can be used to serve food – it works well as a dinner plate or for serving cheese, vegetables, or fruit. A portion of cake with a scoop of ice cream looks nice on it. It is part of a larger set of pieces, a series I call Early Winter. This series was inspired by the special moment at the end of the year when autumn ends and winter begins. I used images of the first winter snow on the remaining colourful autumn leaves, a blend of frosty white, red and purple. It’s the moment when we realise that winter has arrived.
