Small bowl – Rusty series

This is small, handbuilt ceramic bowl. It can be used for serving hot drinks, like coffee, tea, matcha but you can use it to serve food, like sauces, a handful of berries, or nuts as well. Some people treat it as a tealight holder.

It is part of a larger set of pieces, a series I call Rusty. The Japanese concept of wabi sabi inspired me to create this series of rather rough and irregular pieces. When I was in Kyoto, I could experience how the Japanese manage to find beauty in imperfection, corrosion, decay. You can find beautiful things everywhere. All you need to do is look for it.
