This small handbuilt platter plate can be used as a table decoration or to serve party meals.
It is part of a larger set of pieces, a series I call Hoppipolla. Hoppipolla is an Icelandic word meaning “jumping into puddles”. It is a metaphor of the series which was created as a result of mixing decorating techniques, using many different colours at the same time. We do sometimes feel as we were kids – playing, having fun, and not following any rules.
The plate was glazed with the handmade brushes, created with the use of locally found plants.
If you want to create a larger set you may look for the same series pieces or use your imagination and create your individual match.
