This small stoneware vessel made with grogged clay can be used as a serving bowl or for decoration purpose. It is part of a larger set of pieces, a series I call Hoppipolla. Hoppipolla is an Icelandic word meaning “jumping into puddles”. It is a metaphor of the series which was created as a result of mixing decorating techniques, using many different colours at the same time. We do sometimes feel as we were kids – playing, having fun, and not following any rules. The piece was made using pinched method meaning each piece is unique and one of a kind.
If you want to create a larger set you may look for the same series pieces or use your imagination and create your individual match.
