I am delighted to invite you to the meeting of the Projectorium Botanicum series—a project born from my passion for ceramics and a deep love for plants. My studio, located right next to the park, and its integrated garden have been my sanctuary for years. It is here that I took my first steps in gardening and learned to listen to the rhythm of nature. This garden has become my greatest source of inspiration, and now I want to share that space with you.
What is Projectorium Botanicum?
It is a series of open artistic activities where we seek a deep relationship with nature. We won’t just be sculpting. We will be creating things that live in symbiosis with nature. Our second workshop will be dedicated to Trencadis – a technique showing how cracked and unwanted fragments of ceramics can return to the garden in a new, functional form.

Over the past few months, I have been gathering materials in my studio – broken plates, chipped bowls, and ceramic remnants. On April 25th, I will help you give them a second life, turning them into unique details for your green space.
What is Trencadis?
It is a Catalan method of creating mosaics from ceramic shards, popularized by Antoni Gaudí. Unlike classic, geometric mosaics, trencadis celebrates asymmetry and chance. It is an incredibly calming process – breaking, fitting, and arranging a colorful puzzle teaches patience and allows for complete artistic freedom.

What will we be doing?
During the workshop, you will create your own mosaic on a circular plane. The designs you develop will serve as durable decorative elements that can be installed directly into the ground – for example, as ornamental “path stones” or colorful accents hidden among plants.

We will use my supply of “shards” – from colorful functional ceramics to raw fragments of ceramic mass.
The Program:
- Theoretical introduction: A brief history of trencadis.
- Tool workshop: How to safely cut and chip ceramics to achieve desired shapes.
- Designing and gluing: Composing a pattern within a circle, considering textures and colors.
The workshops take place in my studio, where the garden and the proximity of the park create a soothing atmosphere, perfect for creative work.

Bring with you: If you have any broken ceramics at home that you find hard to part with – bring them along! We will weave them into your new creation.
